CBCT (DENTAL CT SCAN) & OPG CENTRE
AN ADVANCED DENTAL IMAGING CENTER FOR COMPLETE 3D & 2D DIAGNOSIS
WHY TO OPT US FOR CBCT & OPG
Since we are among very few Dental Clinics in Gurgaon to have an in house CBCT/OPG Machine and providing Dental treatment under the same roof. Unlike other Centres, where patients need to travel to get the scans done at a diagnostic centre and also bear the extra cost of CBCT or OPG Scans in a CBCT Diagnostic Centre and thereafter spend the Treatment cost in a Dental Clinic separately,
We at Ministry of Smile , understand that available time is limited for everyone and prevent the hassle of commuting to a different centre for getting these scans done. Also, we do not Charge for CT-Scans from our Patients when they go ahead with their Treatment with us allowing them to save the Charges related to the CBCT/OPG Scans.
PREPARATION FOR CBCT SCAN
A cone beam CBCT generally requires no special preparations, However prior to scan an individual may be asked to remove the items that can interfere with the imaging, including metal objects, hair pins, hair aids, head & neck jewelry, etc.
How Is A CBCT Scan Done?
CBCT scan is a modern technology in the field of dentistry. The procedure uses a rectangular or round x-ray machine with a cone-shaped ionizing radiation source. As the device rotates around the patient’s head or the area being scanned, the cone beam generates hundreds of 3D images during a single rotation.
The primary distinction between a CBCT test and traditional dental CT is the latter has a cone shape that facilitates a 360° view of the area being examined. The scan helps produce high-quality and accurate X-ray images of the teeth and jaws. This enables dentists to have an exact view of the bones, teeth, nerve pathways and soft tissues.
Recommended Applications of CBCT SCAN
DIAGNOSING DENTAL DECAY
Conventional Diagnosis of Dental Decay has many limitations as they can’t tell the depth of the Decay toward the Nerve in certain Planes while CBCT shows Complete 3 Dimensional overview of Decay in relation with the Nerve, Tooth & Bone Creating Different Sections of the Teeth as per need.
ROOT CANAL TREATMENT PLANNING
Conventional X-Ray (RVG) only shows Compromised Root Canal Configuration in 2 Dimension leading to inaccurate Treatment Planning while CBCT Endo Scans provides complete 3 Dimensional detailed Information about the – Number of Canals, the length of Canals, shape of the Canals, Canal Curvature, Cross sections of the Canals along with any Pathology or Abnormality related to the Tooth/Canal.
DENTAL IMPLANT PLANNING (CONVENTIONAL & ADVANCED)
Conventional X-Ray (RVG/OPG) used for Implant planning only provide Compromised 2 Dimensional Details of the Bone/Site while CBCT Scans provide Complete 3 Dimensional Detailed Information about the—Width of the Bone, Height of the Bone, Vital structure like the Nerve & Sinus Proximity, Quality of Bone, Extension for Software 3D Planning for Accurate Digital Implant Placement.
COMPLEX IMPACTED TOOTH
Conventional X-rays (RVG) only provides 2 Dimensional Information about the Impacted Tooth as well as the Bone & Vital Structures associated with it while CBCT Scan is any time better for providing 3 Dimensional Complete Detailed information about the Impacted Tooth, 3 Dimensional Bone Status around the Impacted Tooth, Accurate Position of the Tooth, Vital Structures & Nerve Position with Respect to The Roots and Level of Pathology associated with the Impacted Tooth.
TEMPORO-MANDIBULAR JOINT (TMJ) ASSESMENT
Conventional Lateral TMJ Scan for Diagnosing TMJ Joint Disorder has Limitations to provide Complete Detailed Information since it provides 2 Dimensional Information, while CBCT Scans provide Exceptional 3 Dimensional Information about the TMJ Joint, so that Root Cause of the Problem is Diagnosed for Improvising Better Treatment Plan & Relief to our Patients
TOOTH FRACTURE DIAGNOSIS
Diagnosing Root Fracture is the Extremely Difficult with Conventional X-Rays (RVG), as Majority of the times Misdiagnosis occurs due to the 2 Dimensional Limitations, while CBCT provides 3 Dimensional over view of the Tooth with Unmatched Diagnostic Potential towards the Root fracture Diagnosis.
BONE LOSS ANALYSIS
Conventional X-Rays (OPG) Provides Limited 2 Dimensional Analysis of the Level of Bone Loss while CBCT Scan Provides Complete Detailed Overview of the—Areas of Bone Loss, Level of Bone Loss, Amount of Bone Loss & very helpful in determining the Prognosis of the Tooth.
CYST AND OTHER DEFECTS ASSESMENT, CLEFT LIP & PALATE
Conventional X-Rays (RVG/OPG) Provides Limited 2 Dimensional Analysis of size and Location of Cyst, while CBCT Provides 3 Dimensional Detailed Overview of the Cyst Position, Cyst Dimension, Cyst Relation with the Tooth & Cyst Proximity toward any Vital Structure for better Treatment Planning & hence Better Treatment Outcome.
JAW BONE FRACTURE
Maxillofacial Fractures are very complex and absolutely cannot be Diagnosed by Conventional X-Rays (RVG) & it has got limitations with the Diagnostic Potential with respect to the OPG SINCE it is 2 Dimensional, while CBCT provides Complete 3 Dimensional overview of – Level of Fracture, Type of Fracture, Number of Fractures, Severity of Fracture along with Location of Fracture
